Suitable for numerous wound situations

Wounds can occur in many scenarios, whether due to illness, accidents or surgery. Treatment with PlasmaDerm is applied directly to the wound surface and must be used regularly to effectively support healing conditions.

Phase-adapted wound management for chronic and poorly healing wounds, e.g:
  • Ulcers due to chronic venous insufficiency
  • Ulcers due to peripheral arterial occlusive disease
  • Mixed venous-arterial ulcers
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Infected wounds
Surgical site care, e.g:
  • Superficial wound infections
  • Seam dehiscences
  • Delayed postoperative wound healing
Supportive treatment in skin graft procedures, e.g.:
  • Conditioning of wounds before skin grafting
  • Treatment of donor sites of split-thickness skin grafts

Clinically proven effect of PlasmaDerm

PlasmaDerm utilises the effect of directly generated cold plasma on the wound surface and supplements it with an electrical field that has been proven to improve microcirculation down to deeper tissue layers. The depth effect, which lasts for hours and is unique to PlasmaDerm in this form, can also support key wound healing processes.

Proven deep-acting microcirculation

Unique to PlasmaDerm: Microcirculation is demonstrably increased down to deep tissue layers and over several hours – a key advantage that clearly distinguishes PlasmaDerm from other procedures.

Modulation of inflammatory processes

Regular use of the cold plasma therapy device helps to overcome the chronic inflammatory phase.

Reduction of the microbial load

Cold plasma inactivates even multi-resistant bacteria and has a positive effect on the wound environment.

Promotion of wound healing

The combination of microbial load reduction, modulation of inflammation, and improved microcirculation create optimal conditions for regeneration and may also help reduce itching, pain, and wound odor.

What is cold plasma?

Cold, physical, atmospheric plasma is an energy-rich gas consisting of free electrons, ions, neutral atoms and molecules as well as reactive oxygen and nitrogen species. It is created when ambient air is excited by electrical energy – for example, a high-frequency alternating voltage.

  1. Generated cold plasma
Forms directly at the treatment area. Nitrogen, oxygen, and other gases in the surrounding air are ionised between the nubs of the spacer, producing reactive gas species such as ozone and nitric oxide.
  2. Electric field
Demonstrated to enhance microcirculation for several hours, reaching deep tissue layers. This is a key advantage of PlasmaDerm, contributing significantly to its therapeutic effect.
