PlasmaDerm allows wounds to heal faster. Skin diseases are one of the widespread diseases in this country. Neurodermatitis, psoriasis or the so-called “open leg” caused by diabetes or varicose veins often cause long-term suffering in patients. These are very strongly influenced by germs and their multi-resistant pathogens. The Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST in Braunschweig, in cooperation with the company CINOGY and the Clinic for Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the University Medical Center Göttingen, has succeeded in developing the innovative medical technology solution PlasmaDerm for the therapy of wounds and skin diseases. Plasma, generated directly on the skin, promotes wound healing and the fight against multi-resistant pathogens such as MRSA.
