Doctors have been treating poorly healing tissue with cold plasma for some time, as it has an antimicrobial effect, among other things. CINOGY GmbH from Duderstadt in Lower Saxony is considered to be the innovation leader in cold plasma treatment. It has developed a unique process for the medical application of cold plasma as well as suitable devices for use in practices, clinics or at patients’ homes. Dr. Dirk Wandke, founder, managing director and scientific director, explains: “Our application destroys almost all bacteria and germs after a treatment of 90 seconds and increases the microcirculation of the tissue. With this combination we can achieve better and faster wound healing. “
Founded in 2006, the TOP 100 company, which now has 20 employees, is exclusively dedicated to plasma medicine. In the meantime, numerous patents have been registered and the trademarked technology has reached product maturity. Now the main goal for co-managing director Karsten Sternberg is to place the PlasmaDerm® devices in various markets as quickly as possible. “A huge task for our small company, which is why we will also pursue progressive digital approaches,” he says. He benefits from the fact that the product range can also be used for cosmetic applications or in veterinary medicine, for example.
